NEW FORMS
１９９７年。
音楽シーンは活況を呈していた。
dycが社会人デビューした年だ。
そう，ドラムン・ベースの
一大ムーヴメントが起こった年。
当時，既にレゲエから派生した
ジャングルというジャンルが
成熟期を迎え，
ゴールディ（you and me最高！）
だとか，なかなかコズミックなサウンドを
聴かせるアーティストが台頭しだしたころに，
そのアルバムは発表された。
NEW FORMS
なんとも大胆なタイトルでしょう。
そのまんま。
でも，そのタイトルに嘘はない。
当時わりとクラシカルな音楽に浸っていたdycは
その無駄のない，そぎ落とされた音楽に
どれだけ衝撃を受けただろう。
（オンエアEASTのLiveアクトでは２時間ちょっとで死にかけた｡｡｡）
あれから１０年経とうとしている。
部屋を片付けてたらたまたま出てきた
このアルバムを久々に聴いてみて思うのは，
単なるインパクトじゃなくって，
やっぱり，
音楽の一つのNEW FORMSとして，
金字塔を打ち建てたんだってこと。
今聴いても新しい。
全人類必聴。
（そりゃ無理か）

ロニ・サイズ懐かしいなぁ。
95年ごろにその存在を確立させたドラムン・ベースが
他ジャンルを侵食して、ピークを迎えたのが97年ごろだね。
このころは何聞いてもドラムン・ベース・リミックスが入ってたけど（笑）。
ゴールディはangelやsea of tearsもイイーネッ！

んでもって，98年に4heroが
Two Pagesを発表したとたんに
バブルがはじけるように
ドラムン・ベース時代は
終わったんだよねー。
(後続がぐだぐだだった｡｡｡
ロニのブレイクビーツ・エラ然り)
でも，Two Pagesは
ひとつの時代に区切りを
つけるだけの完成度だったなー。
あれをやられちゃ，ヤラレルよ。
今でも時々聴く。
